مشردو مزارع شبعا يسألون الدولة 1973

وجّه مجموعة من أهالي شبعا كتابا الى رئيس الجمهورية جاء في مضمونه، انه قبل حزيران 1967، كانت مزارع شبعا مملوكة للبنانيين ولكنها تحت السلطة السورية! وبعد العدوان على الجولان في العام 1967 تم نقل السوريين من شبعا الى جوار دمشق، فيما بقي اللبنانيون في المزارع وكانوا يتقاضون بين ليرة الى ثلاث ليرات عن كل يوم بدل مساعدة من الدولة، ولكن هذه المساعدة توقفت في تشرين الاول 1969 عندما تحولت من مكتب الانعاش الاجتماعي إلى مجلس الجنوب ومنه إلى مجلس الوزارء.

A group of Shebaa residents sent a letter to the President stating that prior to June 1967, the Shebaa Farms were Lebanese-owned but under Syrian authority. Following the 1967 aggression on the Golan, Syrian residents were relocated near Damascus, while the Lebanese stayed and received a daily state allowance of 1 to 3 LBP. However, this assistance was halted in October 1969 after the file was transferred from the Social Welfare Office to the Council of the South, and subsequently to the Council of Ministers.
