1979م : قام النائبان عبد اللطيف الزين وعلي يوسف الخليل بزيارة الى بيت الكتائب حيث التقيا بالشيخ بيار الجميل، واستعرضا الوضع في الجنوب.وقد صرّح النائب الزين (نحن على اقتناع مع الشيخ بيار بأنه يجب وجود قوة ردع في المنطقة... عربية كانت أم لبنانية لا فرق.. المهم أن تستطيع هذه القوة إيقاف القتال وفرض الأمن والهدوء لكي لا يتفاقم الوضع) .
1977: MPs Abdel Latif El-Zein and Ali Youssef El-Khalil visited AL-Kataeb headquarters, where they met with Sheikh Pierre Gemayel and reviewed the situation in the South Lebanon. MP El-Zein stated: "We agree with Sheikh Pierre that a deterrent force must be present in the region... whether it is Arab or Lebanese makes no difference.. the important thing is that this force is capable of stopping the fighting and enforcing security and calm, so that the situation does not deteriorate further."
