الشيخ حسين يوسف مصطفى معتوق عالم دين شيعي من قرية صير الغربية في جبل عامل، وهو حمو الشيخ حسن طراد من أبرز العلماء الشيعة المعاصرين في لبنان.
وُلد الشيخ حسين معتوق في بلدة العباسيّة، من قرى جبل عامل في قضاء صور، عام 1330هـ الموافق لعام 1912م
تلقى بداية علومه الدينية في العباسية عند الشيخ إبراهيم ياسين ثم انتقل إلى طير دبا ودرس على الشيخ حسين مغنية. ثم هاجر للنجف لمتابعة التحصيل ودرس على كل من السيد حسين الحمامي و السيد محمود الشوشتري والسيد محمد علي الخرساني ، وأتم دروسه في الخارج على السيد محسن الحكيم.
عاد إلى لبنان واستقر في الغبيري عام 1951 أستاذا وأديبا وواعظا وكاتبا وإماما للشيعة في بيروت وضواحيها.
له عدد من الكتابات والأشعار غالبها غير منشور.
توفي في العام 1981 ودفن في بلدته صير الغربية.
Sheikh Hussein Yousef Mostafa Maatouk was a prominent Shiite cleric from the village of Sir al-Gharbiya in Jabal Amel. He was the father-in-law of Sheikh Hassan Trad, one of Lebanon's leading contemporary Shiite scholars.
Born in 1912 (1330 AH) in the town of Al-Abbassieh, Tyre district.
He began his religious studies in Al-Abbassieh and Teir Debba before moving to Najaf, Iraq. There, he studied under prominent scholars, concluding his advanced studies (Bahth al-Kharij) under Sayyid Muhsin al-Hakim.
In 1951, he returned to Lebanon and settled in Al-Ghobeiry, serving as a teacher, writer, poet, and prominent imam for the Shiite community in Beirut and its suburbs.
He left behind various unpublished writings and poems. He passed away in 1981 and was buried in his hometown of Sir al-Gharbiya.
